On May 25th, 2026 the PhD Programme in Physics, Astrophysics and Applied Physics will be holding a half-day meeting with four former PhD students who have embarked on their career paths in companies. This will be an important opportunity for our PhD students to better understand theis perspectives in the corporate world as well as in academia. In particular, it will be interesting to understand how, in the speakers’ experience, their PhD program contributed to their employment and how the skills acquired during their studies are useful in their professional environments.
After an initial introduction by Professor Mennella, Coordinator of our PhD programme, and a brief presentation (about 10 minutes) by each speaker sharing their story, the meeting will continue as a roundtable Q&A moderated by our PhD representatives.
