SIF First prize for best communication to Dr. Elisabetta Spadaro

Elisabetta Spadaro Norella, PhD student at the University of Milan and associated with INFN Milano, won the first prize for best communication in the section of Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics at the 104th National Congress of the Italian Physical Society held from 17 to 21 September 2018 at the University of Calabria. The title of the presentation is “Observation of the B0(s) -> J / Psi p anti-p decays and precise B0(s) mass measurement”.

Elisabetta presented her thesis work based on the data analysis of the LHCb experiment at CERN which allowed to make the first observation of the rare decays of B0 and B0s mesons in the final state J/Psi p anti-p and the best measurement of the masses of the B0 and B0s mesons obtained to date. The work is very advanced and will be submitted soon to the journal Physical Review Letters for publication. This result opens the possibility to study in the decays of B mesons possible pentaquark states in the J/Psi p, J/Psi anti-p systems and p anti-p resonant states for the search of glueball.
